The Bell TollsDestruction is in the airChange is imperativeNo longer can we revel in the bliss of ignoranceThe conditioning of educationThe misrepresentations nurtured by traditions of fearPreparing us like perfect firewoodTime to wake up!We are dyingBeing used up like a food supplyContinuing to defer our obligations to our childrenConditioning them to do the sameBartering our denial as the well goes dryChoosing to misunderstand the work;The work is to unify not multiplyBy giving in to the beast of loneliness;Our pervasive fearWe submit to a control unknownBy refusing to rationalise this forceWe guarantee its futureWe are dying!Like hollow logs empty in our abundanceBy our denialWe have cannibalised our very soulCompromised our mother earthThe monster is feeding in our gardenThe bell is tollingBut we are oblivious.Thomas F Kitt was born and raised in Galway, Ireland.
