Poetry Through the Eyes of My Soul

I was given life, and God transferred that energy to Herbert L. Shurn and Theresa Jackson Nichols Shurn. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, off of St. Clair Avenue. During my short existence here on earth, I have witnessed many atrocities, but I have seen an enormous amount of joy also.

My initial thoughts were to express the social ills endured by the downtrodden of society. However, I decided to express my life experiences. Therefore, my poems are expressions through the eyes of my soul.
