Poetrywivenhoe was established early in 2007, and within a year, plans were made for the first Wivenhoe Poetry Prize Competition. Hopes were high amongst the organisers that there would be a positive response to the competition - there was real surprise and delight when more than three hundred poems were submitted, the quality of which resulted in the decision to publish this collection. None of the poems have previously been published and all are by poets who live in or near the small town of Wivenhoe in Essex.
