Posterity

The saga of the trials and struggles of a small band of survivors of a medical program to salvage aborted fetuses. In paroxysms of violence in the dysfunctional world they attempt to escape into most of survived fetuses have died. Their survival generates forces set out to destroy them and erase any potential record of their existence. As America becomes wracked by social, racial, gender and political civil unrest and war, criminality flourishes. Known only by the derogatory names given them by the vicious staff of the concentration camp like facility where they were raised, Punk, a aggressive and powerful young man, skilled by nature to be a survivor, Slick, a neurologically injured but brilliant young man who becomes literate, and keeps the records of their camp, and Dumpy a loving young black woman whose major concerns are the welfare of the two men and the infants and toddlers she looks after. On their escape some of the young children die or are killed and only two toddlers survive and are saved by the escaping trio. Sweet, a mixed-race young woman who is the intense romantic love of the strong young man, Punk, has been kidnapped by ghetto gang. She bore a baby in the camp before her kidnapping who was sold to an infertile couple in New England who were friends of the powerful people who ran the program. The group connects with a pediatrician who used to look after them. When he discovers that the powers behind the program are going to erase it and its captives, he drives to the camp, and the group goes with him to his home in Chicago. In a series of intense and frequently violent events, Sweet is killed in an attempt to rescue her, causing Punk great pain. The existence of the program is becoming more widely known and forces who want to reveal it including the Archdiocese of NY, and political forces trying to unseat the left wing dictatorship running the Federal Government and military, are arrayed against forces who want their existence erased, including the
