Practitioner Joy

""Practitioner Joy"" is my celebration of my practice as a poet and, at least in part, my confrontation with inevitable death. This book brings to poetry contemporary trends that the West and the world seem to be embracing. We are outside Plato's Cave, where capitalism's crisis horizon threatens with precarious neoliberalism's ""every conduct is economic conduct,"" cyber algorithmic ""I once was mine; now I am theirs,"" and Yuval Noah Harari's and Stephen Hawking's ""Homo Deus"" (a new species of humans from the loins of the wealthy only), and prophetic voices are needed in an effort to counter and perhaps change the narrative's and the future's direction. This collection of poems attempts to do just that. It is an alternative voice offering a way forward that promotes and celebrates Homo sapiens' overcompensation practices through the ideas of Hegel, Nietzsche, and Rene Girard through Peter Sloterdijk's You Must Change Your Life and Slavoj iek's Less than Nothing.
