Prayer in the New Testament

In recent years Christians have increasingly turned to Scripture to nourish their prayer life. Prayer in the New Testament focuses on biblical prayer, seeing its intimate connection with contemporary spirituality and discovering models in the spiritual leaders of New Testament times. The New Testament writers gave their communities' understandings of prayer and its centrality for the person and community of faith. Their complementary presentations help us catch a glimpse of the richness of prayer for the early community and rediscover its centrality for ourselves. Dr. Leonard Doohan is Professor Emeritus at Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington. He has written twenty-four books and many articles and has given hundreds of workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Far East. Dr. Doohan has written six books on various aspects of the New Testament, and six books on the spirituality and roles of laity in the contemporary church.
