This is a thorough update and revision of a book published in 1998 by Pergamon Press. Kazdin is an eminent researcher in this area. He changed the focus and title of the book to reflect current thinking on psychotherapeutic interventions with children. As a result, the book retains a balance between practical conerns and research, reflecting many of the new approaches to children that have appeared in the past ten years.
