Pursuing Obedience

The fact that sinning keeps winning is a lamentable legacy for many Christians. Despite renewed vows, each preceded by clenched-teeth resolve and followed by red-eye remorse, the serpent's hissing continues to indict-s-s-sin! Given all these dashed hopes, victory formulas from a cliché Christianity interests no one. What should gain a hearing, however, are the strategies Jesus set forth that night in Gethsemane when obedience endured its most stringent test and in the end secured its most impressive victory. These ten strategies, all set forth in the latter part of John 14, brought the greatest victory this world would ever see, even when the motivations for achieving it were under the most devastating assault. The reader will learn: how heaven vitalizes our vision for living right, how attraction to the Father repels sin, how our new nature already has what we're trying to get, how the Holy Spirit releases righteousness inside us, how Scripture directs the flow of righteousness, how encouragers can accelerate our spiritual progress, how triggers for disobedience-loss of peace, lack of gratitude, lies from Satan, lusts from self-can be countered.
