This book is a compilation of articles written by the author in 67-72. These include opinions, criticism, and resistance on the Cultural Revolution. They touch upon Mao Zedong, Lin Biao, personal worship, class struggle, dictatorship of the proletariat, equality, freedom, as well as reflections on the Lin Biao incident. It can be said that it is a great criticism of the cultural revolutionary theory of the authorities from 66 to 72 years. In 1972, the author posted a large-character poster in the center of Shanghai: “Does truth have a class character?”, thereby challenging the "5.16 Notice" and the "People's Daily" editorial on 1966.6.4. The author hoped to have a theoretical open confrontation and debate with the authorities. The author’s attempt failed because the authorities did not accept the proposal. However, because of this, these manuscripts have been preserved and are available today. To discuss, study, and reflect on the Cultural Revolution, these manuscripts need to be read. They not only reflect the thoughts and courage of some people represented by the author, but also reflect on the social reality and social opinion of the Cultural Revolution at a large scale.
