Churches, congregations and individual Christians are always looking for the roots of their tradition. Confessions reveal this decisively. Confessions themselves have their local and national characteristics, but they also cross all borders. An edition of reformed confessions has to take this into account. This led to the concept of a broad-based collection of the faith certificates from the reformed church family that have historically gained importance and recognition.
