Reincarnation A Reasonable Inquiry

   Some say reincarnation is a fact, and cite the Bible as their source.
   Others say reincarnation is fiction, and cite this same Bible as their source.
   Precisely what does the Bible literally tell us about reincarnation in the original Hebrew and Greek? 
   Furthermore; how does the Bible comport with that which science tells us?

  "Judeo-Christian beliefs seem to be a bit split in this matter.  Reincarnation is generally not considered to be a part of either Modern Judaism or Modern Christianity.  Yet even today many Jewish families name their children after deceased family members, in the hope that these same deceased family members will return as their children.  The matter of Passover and Elijah will be addressed later.

   What does the Bible literally tell us about the status of the soul in the so called afterlife, and the potentials of the same?
