The novel "Retribution" by Tatyana Uspenskaya (Oshanina) is a multi-layered work in which two main themes are intertwined: the protagonist's love for the girl and for each member of his family, and at the same time, hatred for his peer, "KGB officer", murderer and a scoundrel, to a system in which the triumph of violence and cruelty and the murder of innocent people are possible.This is a story about revenge for a loved one and for a failed personal life, about a crime committed by the main character - a brilliant surgeon, a book about pangs of conscience and attempts to calm it down. And this is also a novel about special, pure people of the era, about wonderful doctors who gave life to the sick, about victims of Stalinism who died or survived in agony, but preserved their personalities and spirit despite the horrors of difficult times.
