Karnali is a richest region in bio-diversity lies in Nepal. The people of Karnali are known as 'abandoned people' of Nepal due to geographical constraint. After the democracy in 1990, most of the communities in Karnali established school for their children. Governmental and non-governmental agencies have been investing fund to secure the right to education of those abandoned chidren. However class repetition, dropout, teachers' absenteeism, and social mobility after the school education are the varieties of reasons existing. Still the parents have a question, "why do we need to educate our children?" This book has found the answers of (1) How do the children and parents perceive right to education? (2) What are the challenges encountered while implementing right to education? (3) How can the right to education with minimum standards enabling condition be ensured to the children in Karnali? The students and parents were less aware of right to education and considered shepherding better than right to education. For students right to education was 'child to child' and for parents 'Kham language and calculator operation'.
