Roses in December is essentially a story of acquaintances, relationships, and lifelong friendships. A story told of memories of one at the later end of a large family - of the many people whose paths crossed with his, and the connection with whom helped to enrich his journey through the years - From the setting of the scene The Beginning - Momentous Years of the Ireland of the thirties and the somewhat sequestered Wicklow of his childhood to the very different Wicklow of today, told in a simple and highly readable manner.
