Do the Chickens on Ceres prove Roxy's Moxie or Foxy? Ceres is not a place to raise your kids; and if the cute Frenda Kunkle thought the revolving door from the adjacent insane asylum came through her door on earth, she may have just hit the jack-pot with her soiree over to Ceres-a veritable psychiatrist's smorgasbord. Curley Cornstinkler and Nikki Nooner are two of the 'locos,' at constant loggerheads with one another-a classic battle in futility over closet chauvinism and tepid exhibitionism that somehow meets in the middle of unfounded animosity. Zarley StrangerFord, who owns a knick-knack shop, foists a seemingly inoperable 'Smrglonometer' over to Frenda Kunkle who gets caught in the middle of all the action. Years past, a group of scientists built a nuclear facility on the asteroid Ceres, adjacent to a chicken hatchery and feed silos, and when it pulled a Chernobyl in the meantime, the entire landscape of Ceres became dotted with humongous, idiotic chickens that grew to a stupendous size. This founded the favorite hobby of the inhabitants of the cold island asteroid, chicken racing-a hobby which led to the contest of the Century between Baron Van Beaklestone and Charles Cartstinkler III; two other dire enemies, engaged in battle on the two and a half kilometer race of their lives, Beaklestone with three large chickens tugging him behind a chariot and Cartstinkler in a shopping cart with two very athletic birds. It is only at the very end that the reader will learn who has moxie, and whether it does indeed pay off to have the wiles of a fox in a chicken coop.
