Rufus, every blue dog's hero, meets his conscience when Daffodil, the only yellow dog in a blue-dog town, challenges his way of thinking. As a role model for his community, Rufus steps up to the plate to learn more about what makes Daffodil tick. As Rufus observes Daffodil, his admiration for her builds. But it isn't until Daffodil goes out on a limb, or paw, as the case may be, and comes to his rescue, that Rufus realizes he shouldn't judge a dog by its color. It is now Rufus' moral responsibility to be a good role-model and guide his blue-dog community to understand the importance of having an open mind and an accepting heart to embrace differences! After all, being in the doghouse can be a good thing, kind of like coming home!
