Understanding the status, profile, determinants, and households perception about poverty are a pre-conditions for effective public action to alleviate poverty in rural areas of Ethiopia. Hence, the major concern of this book was to analyses rural poverty status and its determinants in Kuyu district of central Ethiopia with the specific objectives of probing into rural households characteristics by poverty status, analyzing profile of rural poverty, identifying the determinants of rural poverty, and finally assessing the perception of rural households to poverty in the Kuyu district. In order to attain these objectives, relevant data were collected through structured interview, key informant interview, and focus group discussions. The generated data were analyzed through different method like Gini coefficient, mean, dispersion, t-test, 2, FGT index, logit regression model, linear regression model and principal component analysis (PCA) as per nature of each objectives.
