Sailing The Waves

Lizzie is a charismatic and clever girl who lives with her mother in Florida.  Her doting mother could never give her the time she deserved, and since Lizzie was an only child, her mother was over-protective about her.  Being trapped in the books all day, Lizzie was often the subject of jokes.  Her only support was her best friend, who sympathized with her.
