Salaperantha: The Eight-Legged Wonder

This enchanting story is about an odd-looking spider, named Salaperantha, who lives on a farm with many other animals. Daily, she watches her barnyard friends as they complete their own, individual tasks so the farm runs smoothly. As Salaperantha witnesses them accomplishing their tasks every day, she feels as if she has no purpose in life. She seeks out the advice of an educated and very wise cat named Chromius. He advises Salaperantha to have patience, be herself and she'll soon discover her unique abilities and her true purpose in life. Salaperantha isn't convinced and decides to leave the barn to live in an old mill, next to a beautiful river, where she can relax, think, and possibly rediscover herself. While there, Salaperantha becomes friends with Mrs. Mouse and her six children who also reside in the mill. To Salaperantha, life there is like a dream until one day the sky grows dark, and thunder booms outside. An enormous storm is brewing and all must return to the barn before the mill floods. When the storm arrives, a wooden bridge over the river unexpectedly washes away making the trip back to the barn seem impossible. Salaperantha soon remembers the advice Chromius gave her and devises a way to use her web-weaving skills to cross the river and arrive safely at the barn. After Salaperantha accomplishes this daring rescue, Chromius reminds her of the helpful advice he gave her in the past. Salaperantha finally realizes that all she needs to do is to just be herself (expert web weaver), do her best, and consequently discovers her true purpose in life!
