Leaving behind her idyllic childhood in a seaside village, Emile slips into a dark world of wayward souls in an ancient Czech town. While on her way to boarding school, Emile's train takes her to another school instead, where her name has appeared on the roster. She falls into the world of Godfrey, their capricious, chaotic headmaster who teaches Manipulation rather than Math and lectures from his favorite bar.
