Seasons Of The Heart

This book, "Seasons of the Heart" by Allene Joyce (i.e. Joyce Halvorsen) uses the subjects of time and seasons in her poetry. She has divided her book into seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter and written thoughtful and reflective poems which manifest the simple but complex parts of nature and time. As Allene Joyce writes, "Every person sees the world about them in a different manner. Somone or Something much greater than ourselves has the final say." The poetry in this book recollects the great and small images or moments from lifes enduring cycle. In these days of uncertainty and unchartered times, its important to remember that humans are not the center of the universe. Time and nature are the supreme gifts of creation which humans should admire with awe and respect. Like the flowers and seasons, may the poetry and prose of this book brighten and enlighten each day.
