Immorality, indecency or pornography were words widely used in times when anodyne euphemisms were used for unpronounceable terms such as braga, penis, orgasm... while the focus was put on the length of skirts and what swimsuits should cover. Times of ridiculous censorship in which the concepts of crime and sin were confused. From a transversal vision and beyond the anecdote, it analyzes a complex reality that encompassed prostitution, homosexuality, single mothers, the "queridas", censorship, covert pederasty or the sexual customs of the Spanish under a strictly patriarchal system where morality was circumscribed to the centimeters of skin shown, and that affirmed that men had different sexual needs than women, whose only destiny seemed to be marriage. From the times of the National Congresses of Decency on beaches and swimming pools and the police persecution of nudism and bikinis, to their forced authorization, from the great post-war brothels to the prostitution of the sixties, from that of "with Arias-Salgado all covered up" to "with Fraga down to his underwear". This book immerses us in a universe of repression in which almost everything could be a sin, where double standards, pharisaism and the exception according to social origin nested. An exciting itinerary from repression to uncovering, full of suggestive testimonies about a social reality whose derivations reach our days.
