Senator Gerald Albers is at the top of his game politically when mob-like characters blackmail him to the tune of more than a million dollars in order to keep the politician's secret sex life out of the media. Albers, dreading the worst outcome, and unwilling to involve the police, hires private eye and former Chicago cop, Cleve Hawkins, to track down the threatening miscreants.
