On a dreary rain-soaked late September morning, Detective Sergeant Mickey MacKinnon, following up on a tip, finds a decomposing mutilated body on a rural property. The finding sets in motion one of the most bizarre and tragic murder investigations of MacKinnon's career as a homicide detective.
