Shards Of Divinities

Seventeen-year-old Abram is a brilliant and sensitive young man. He is coming of age in an ancient, walled city within a mighty desert empire. There comes a night, under the milky-white of the full moon, that he experiences a shocking vision of the divine. He is jarred by a sense of Existential whiplash. He asks: Why is it that the sun's strong light exposes our bodies, yet the moon's milky-white exposes our soul?

Ever since he was a child he always felt like a citizen of a different realm, but he never understood that feeling until that fateful night. Society expects him, under dire threat and consequences, to conform to its religious dogma. He wrestles with a gut-wrenching decision: If he speaks against his society's dogma, and reveals his vision, he will disappoint and anger his father. He will also cause punishing retribution against his family. But he is on fire for his new-found vision of the Source of Creation. What will he do?

He only feels secure in confiding in his friend and schoolmate Khaferu. This friendship further shapes and molds his vision of the divine. He slowly realizes that his new-found vision of the Source extends far beyond the vagaries of his own life. It is destined to bend the arc of history.
