With the Civil War raging in the East, the Confederacy is in desperate need for Union gold coming overland from California through Fort Yuma in the Arizona Territory. With the help of Southern spies and sympathizers, Alkali Jim Sullivan and his gang of bushwhackers are robbing the Wells Fargo gold shipments.
