Settled in 1665 as one of the Two Towns of the Navesink, the township of Shrewsbury, New Jersey, played an important role in the development of Monmouth County. One of the most historically significant areas in the region, the original vast expanse of Shrewsbury Township--organized in 1693--has since evolved into an attractive 2.3-square-mile
residential borough.
