Stuttgart Germany - 1938 The beautiful Gertrude Von Busch is forced to marry a man she doesn't love and leave behind the man she does. It is for her own protection as Hitler's rage takes over Germany - destroying all that is good including her own parents. Her two baby girls born seven years apart are the product of her first love, Boris who cannot save her from the savagery of her husband who sells her babies and murders Gertrude. Neither daughter knows of the existence of the other or of their true beginnings. They are raised in Paris by wealthy parents who come together twenty five years later to help Boris salvage what is left of his life and help Silke recover from the death of her own child, the product of her marriage to the brother she never knew she had.
