Simulation of Material Processing

Numerical simulation of industrial forming processes is drastically changing design and development ways in the manufacturing of industrial products to those using virtual trials. This leads to a large reduction in the cost and lead time for the design and development of the forming processes. The numerical simulation has a position as IT innovation in the manufacturing. The NUMIFORM Conference, held at three-year intervals, offers a forum for practitioners from both academia and industry to exchange knowledge on new developments of numerical methods. This volume contains about 180 papers including seven keynotes presented at the 7th NUMIFORM Conference. It reflects the state-of-the-art of simulation of industrial forming processes such as rolling, forging, sheet metal forming, injection moulding and casting.
