Six Skene Street

Six Skene Street is a modern-day Australian romance, depicting the funny, frustrating and ordinary events which colour a budding relationship. Life-long friends provide levity and stability in this east-to-read love story, as old family secrets and betrayals are revealed, generating life-changing consequences for all concerned. 1963 Part one portrays eleven year old Dash, living in Launceston with a mother who neither loves nor wants him. His step-father is having an affair and, sick and tired of his hard to please wife, is on the verge of leaving her. Part two depicts eleven year old Evie's life before it's radically transformed by tragedy. Her bitterly disillusioned mother then relocates the family of six children, from the beachside town of Portarlington, to a new life in the city. 1995 Part three sees Dash secure work as a crane operator in Geelong. Divorced, and with a daughter he's rarely seen, his contagious humour is put to the test after the startling discovery of previously unknown family members. Evie, also divorced, is loving her life as a feng shui consultant. Her world is rocked though, when the truth of the tragic events in her childhood are revealed; shocking her, and producing differing reactions in her siblings. .
