Throughout theyears,theoriginalrecordsofthe 7thCavalryRegiment havesufferedfrom many disasters. On March30,1952,a firedestroyed the regimental headquarters in Japan,and everything wasburnedexceptthe regimental colors.Tofurther complicatethe matter, but tocomplywithorders,manyvaluablerecordsweredestroyed toaccomplish whatthey thoughtwas"cleaningoutuseless files." What thisactually caused or createdwas theexistence ofincompleteand often inaccuraterecords. Perhaps this bookwillhavean eye-opening effect forthe readerand will stir memoriesand answerquestions thatstillprevail or persist.
