Sleep Well, My Lady

The second entry to the series set in Accra, Ghana featuring Emma Djan. A year after the death of a fashion and social media icon, Emma is asked to look into the case.

Augustus Seeza is one of Ghana's most high-profile TV anchors, though haunted by rumors of lavish overspending, alcohol, and women. He's dating the imposing, beautiful Lady Araba, a social media phenom with a successful self-made clothing line now sold throughout the Afro-Brit scene. Araba's wealthy family hates Augustus, believing he's just with her to soothe his spiraling debts.

Araba finally gives in to her family and dumps Augustus, but he keeps showing up at her estate, in turn arguing with her and trying to win her back. When a drunken bender costs him his job and lands him in the hospital, she feels so guilty that she takes him back. A few days later, Araba doesn't show up for work. She is found bludgeoned to death in her room, and her driver is arrested after a hasty investigation.

A year later, Araba's favorite aunt, Dele, approaches Emma Djan for help. Dele believes the original arrest was of a harmless scapegoat, and that someone else within Augustus and Araba's circles is the real murderer. Every one of the suspects appears to have an alibi for the night in question, but Emma will quickly discover that they are willing to lie for each other--and that one may still be willing to kill to cover up their past transgressions.
