So Now You Know

'So Now You Know' is the personal account of the life of Barbie Smith. From her early years growing up in 1930s Southampton England, the book traces her childhood Through to her school years, and the impact of World War two, on family and community life. On New Year's Eve 1946 she has a chance meeting with Bill, a recuperating soldier and ex Prisoner of War who has endured years of suffering in German Camps, and survived the horrific Death Marches of 1945. As peace comes to Europe and Bill's difficult rehabilitation continues, their blossoming romance finds them looking ahead to a whole new life together, but with many of the great joys that will come, so too will the hardest fight of all.
