Space exploration

Age range 8 to 14 This series looks at the amazing world of space and space travel. We examine our close neighbours in space, and also the outer planets and beyond. The books are illustrated with fantastic NASA photographs and artist's impressions. In this book we look at the long history of space exploration, from its early beginnings in the observatories of the AD800s to the soon-to-be launched James Webb Space telescope. We find out how the invention of the telescope and rockets changed the way we view the universe and how we have journeyed to the Moon, distant planets and beyond.
