Anyone who owns land, whether rancher, farmer or anyone in between-grassfires strike fear into the heart. Lani, the young-looking female communicator in the REACT T van, rides herd over a team of fire fighters and tries to rein in her infatuation with Cord Comstock, the rancher whose land is threatened. As if his rugged good looks weren't enough to lasso her heart, he loved children and animals, too. Lani was a goner when it came to Cord. Now, if he could only stop thinking of her as a bratty tomboy who had followed her brothers around during search and rescue trials in Texas.
