Speedfitters

       Steven waits in his white SpeedFitters van along Chicago's downtown shopping district for a car accident that'll rip off a human limb, making his daily quota. His company profits from car accidents, mass shootings, and workplace accidents by selling parts off, replacing them with SpeedFitters prosthetics.

       Blind dates in dingy bars should never work. Lisa, a parts reclamation agent, is introduced to Steven by friends--a donkey has kick-started his heart! They live it up to the wee hours, and she gives him a parting kiss--but not her phone number.

       The newly elected Commonsense Council passes many new laws: expressway speeds below 100 mph, safer crosswalks throughout Chicago, and a promised crackdown on gang violence. These actions quickly dry up the human parts supply, putting Steven's job and budding relationship with Lisa at risk.

       SpeedFitters trails Steven's unraveling life as the world becomes safer.
