After walking out on my jerk of an ex-boyfriend in the middle of a date, I made a promise to myself: no dating for a year. A little time and space to get to know myself was exactly what I needed after eight years in a toxic soul-sucking relationship, and it's not like my tiny hometown is teeming with eligible bachelors anyway.
