Stone Dead

Glasgow, Scotland: When a man's body is pulled from the Clyde, Strathclyde Police initiate a murder investigation which exposes links to organized crime gangs. But when the matriarch of the notorious Shepherd family goes missing, DCI Andy Gilchrist and his associate, DS Jessie Janes, are called upon to find her - if they can. Their investigation uncovers a historical trail of missing persons, leading them to an illegal body disposal service. As Gilchrist's investigation deepens, he uncovers a murderous plot to destroy the status quo of the criminal underworld and change the balance of power in Scotland and beyond. But the up-and-coming criminal hierarchy will not give up easily, and they set in motion murderous acts of retribution, one of which is to eliminate Gilchrist and Janes. Can Gilchrist and Janes survive long enough, or will they end up like all the others - just two more illegally-disposed of bodies in the river?
