Strange Stories from A Chinese Studio

A classic of fantastic and criminous Chinese folk tales superbly translated and annotated by the celebrated Sinologist, Herbert A. Giles. The stories in this volume are translated from the 17th Century collection called the Laio-Chai Chi-i of P'u Sung-Ling, a collection of weird tales which include stories of magic, devilry, vampirism and other fantastic themes.
Giles was professor of Chinese at Cambridge as well as British Consul at Ningpo.
