Streaming series have become significantly more important for young people's leisure activities in recent years. If you want to get closer to today's generation through the media, popular series offer ideal points of contact. Thematically, authentic references from the concrete living environment of the young people as well as relevant core topics for the competence-oriented curriculum of the secondary levels I (here from class 7) and II can be found again. In this material booklet, the authors present series that operate under the label "teen" or "superhero series" (Sex Education/Watchmen), series that top the streaming charts (Game of Thrones, Star Trek: Picard, The Rain) as well as critically acclaimed productions (Chernobyl, The Handmaid's Tale) to animated (The Simpsons) and web-only series (Print/Anne Frank). The genres are correspondingly diverse: action, comedy, thriller, crime, romance, drama, science fiction, fantasy, animation and adventure. What they all have in common is that they make excellent offers to take up and work on curricular topics in the subjects of religion, ethics, philosophy, German, English, politics and media education in a student-oriented manner. This material booklet offers information, worksheets and helpful (media) tips for productive use of selected series in the classroom and homeschooling.
