What's the best way to fix a broken school system? Do we pump more money into it or pass more laws! or do we burn down the broken system and start over? Strictly for the Birds tackles these serious questions in the tradition of Orwell's Animal Farm, turning students, parents, teachers and politicians into birds whose all-too-human shortcomings let us laugh at a tragedy in the making. At Osprey-Bufflehead Middle School, teachers and administrators are tearing their feathers out over the latest governmental folly, the No Bird Left Out Act. "NoBLO" could make their school a no-show as far as salary increases and badly needed repairs. When an alien kiwi upsets the balance of skilled versus non-skilled students, the adults throw up their wings in despair! but in a dramatic and surprising turn of events, little Hannah Kiwi may have just the right talents to save the day.
