First year law students study the landmark Supreme Court case McCulloch vs. Maryland, in which James W. McCulloh played a significant role. Who was this man and what made him challenge the State of Maryland? This book tells the story of lives that helped shape James W. McCulloh and the impact he had on his own children and grandchildren. Coming from a family of sixteen children, James learned to be independent and stand up for what he believed. This would be his way throughout life and a characteristic he passed on to his thirteen children.
