Within these poems language and memory form a collusion which eulogizes a stuck moment of time even as it reinvents it. The result is a poetic whose vision travels as far into the future as it does into the past, mining from both moments which are as compellingly familiar as they are foreign, moments in which it becomes clear that all histories are shared histories. John Pursley III is the author of two previous chapbooks-A Conventional Weather (New Michigan Press) and When, by the Titanic (Portlandia Press). His recent work has appeared in such literary journals as AGNI, Colorado Review, Lumina, and Poetry. He teaches at Clemson University.
