Taelo

Taelo visualized an adventure that Broken Spear, the seer of the Others who was not able to walk would be able to participate in. This led him to think about all the other leaders of the Others and the Elk clan who were older and would also be able to participate. He shared his vision with Golden Hawk, his cousin who enthusiastically supported him.

This support and that of both, Quiet Rabbit, and Busy Bee their mates, brought the Journey of Sages to life.

Taelo and his team had experience navigating two different seas in their Journey of Circumvention. The Journey of Sages would circumvent the sea and be able to see the lands that bordered it. They would be able to go to places they had never dreamt of.

He had the vision, but he needed a large raft that would withstand the sea and its many storms. He knew that he needed the help of Talking Wren and her excellent skills to make a raft large enough and strong enough to safely taken all the Sages on their journey.

The raft was a wonder of design, construction and of size. Talking Wren created a raft that she promised would withstand the worst of storms.

The raft leaves from Head Rock Bay with a goal to return to it after circumventing the sea.

Taelo qualifies all the personnel on the journey in how to handle the raft. He taught himself and all the others on how to use the sun, the stars, and a small, towed raft to guide the raft in the desired direction.

Three stops on the first coast and then the smooth transit of the sea.

Smooth until a storm drove him backward for days, shattered the main sail mast and threatened to clear the rafts deck hit.

After more than ten sun cycles the waters calmed and recovery was possible.  

After repairs, they made to a series of islands where they discovered people. One group friendly and one that attacked them as they left the area.

The attackers learn that the Sages are more dangerous than they had anticipated.

The journey follows the currents northward along the coast. 

A white plume of smoke pulled the Sages into a conflict of the White Bear Clan who Taelo had once before met during the battle with the Sky Eyes on the Journey known as the Dangerous passage.

Once again the Sages prove to be superior to the adversaries they face.

After the battle, the raft crosses back to the starting point, Head Rock Bay.

After three seasons The Journey of Sages ends in Jubilation.
