Taking Fire

After two tours and too many lost troops, Navy special ops translator Max de Milles is ready to go home. Her last tour should be easy-the troop ship is headed to a birth in the Mediterranean and Max will soon be catching a transport to the States. Life is looking good until an emergency SOS from an humanitarian group in Central Africa derails her plans.

Doctor Rachel Winslow and her Red Cross team are caught in the crossfire during a vicious civil uprising, but she refuses to abandon her patients or her civilian team members as the rebels close in on their makeshift hospital. She and Max are on opposite sides when the special ops squad insists on evacuation-even though it may already be too late.

Hunted by extremists and under siege by nature's most virulent weapons, Max and Rachel are forced to work together if they are to survive, and in the process, discover something far more lasting.
