Josie Hunnicutt Reynolds (1842-1925), existing in a shanty-town during the years of her childhood, witnessed the ravages of Civil War and Reconstruction in the South. Her life as an adult fatefully emerged into one of opposite dimension, but not before she had witnessed the marvels of the Progressive Era and endured tragedy, joy, and fulfillment in her personal life.
