TBI Guy's Learnin' Lessons: Dealin' With Bullies by J. R. Hatcher (a work-related traumatic brain injury survivor) is a humorous children's book series, which shares a TBI Survivor's real-to-life, moment-to-moment, experiences and is written as a fictional narrative through the guise of a storyteller.

R. Hatcher: is a traumatic brain injury survivor of over twenty years. Prior to his brain injury at 21 years of age, he worked as a porter for a car dealership. With plans to attend college, J. R. worked as much as he could to save money for his future. While working at the dealership, he was asked to perform a driver exchange from Southern Maryland to Big Stone Gap Tennessee. Due to an impending snowstorm the roads were icy with low visibility. J. R. hit ice, went air bound, landed in the forest, and sustained subarachnoid bleeds, multiple hematomas, a collapsed lung, crushed a portion of his skull, and caused multiple lacerations resulting in his traumatic brain injury (TBI). Over time, J. R. relearned how to eat, drink, talk, walk, etc. His family was told he would be a vegetable and require life-long non ambulatory care for the remainder of this life. Focused on more, TBI Guy rose up and exceeded doctors' expectations throughout post-trauma recovery.
Since then, J. R. has attended college resulting in massage therapy and physical training certification. He is once more looking at 2024 courses. An avid reader, J. R. studies a variety of unique topics apart from disability awareness. He enjoys PlayStation and volunteers when asked. TBI Guy continues learning how to address greater amounts of time within social settings excelling at appropriateness in action. He currently resides in Southern Maryland with his two dogs (Scuttle and Charlotte).

Brooks: is a professional therapist and counselor with specialty areas that include ADD and ADHD, Anger Management, Career Counseling, Depression, Emotional Disturbance, Family Conflict, Narcissistic Personality, School Issues, Teen Violence, and Traumatic Brain Injury. A. L. is a long-time assist to TBI Guy and has transformed into a solid support over time. J. R. discussed a new title for adults and A. L. agreed and they began development of their impending title release. A. L. is a stalwart professional counselor and therapist who has been transformative for TBI Guy. He knows how to transcend the TBI disconnects and move them into every day normalized living for TBI Guy.
