Teaching of Written Composition in Secondary Schools

The following abstract is taken from the introductory paragraph of the thesis. "The chief object of this study is to point out what, it is hoped, will be a few helpful suggestions towards remedying those conditions in the teaching of English composition that have heretofore rendered the composition period one of the hardest to get through for many of the boys and girls of our high schools."
