Tequila Vikings

Petty Officer Doyle Murphy always knew that getting into too much fun in Tijuana could land him behind bars. He never dreamed it might also put him in the morgue.

Murphy and his men discovered that the US Navy was oddly tolerant of their boozy forays south of the border. They took full advantage of the situation and their Mexican misadventures became the stuff of legend. The ship's crew called them Tequila Vikings.

As the USS Belleau Wood prepares to depart for its new home in Japan, the Vikings embark upon one final bender along Avenida Revolucion. They decide to bring the division's most hopeless sailor along, hoping to toughen him up. Murphy suspects that a night out with a group of aspiring alcoholics might do him good.

But the Vikings' penchant for blurring the line between fun and felony finally goes awry. Murphy's most vulnerable shipmate ends up arrested and facing the wrath of a sadistic cop with cartel connections that Doyle has accidentally crossed.

When Murphy learns who has custody of his man, he realizes that it might take more than pesos to spring a Viking from custody. This time, bail might get posted in lives.
