The American Outback

The American Outback is the true story of one man's struggle to balance meeting the expectations of others with his own need for solitude and nature. It is a classic tale of "security" versus "freedom." Izaak David Diggs lived in a vibrant city, was married and had a mortgage, career, and good credit score; everything an adult American is supposed to want. The only time he felt alive, though, felt like life made sense, was when he was exploring the middle of nowhere, places on the very edge of the map---this is the story of those trips and the consequences of them.
